How is the commute from Long Beach, Ca to Irvine, Ca?

I will be going to university next year at UCI. I didn't receive a lot of grant money from them so I am starting to consider commuting there. I believe it is only a 30 minute drive from Long Beach to Irvine, correct? Do you feel that it is too long or it's alright?
