How do I stay happy while being poor?

I'm really unhappy because my family is really poor. There are days when I don't at all because there is nothing to eat. I'm in high school, I have a job and I work like a slave and I'm still poor. My aunt says my husband isn't invited?

So my aunts daughter just died in January and she invited us all to come over in July but she specifically said for girl time. Now I don't have a problem with that except that it is a family gathering in California and I live in nevada, so I will be gone all weekend. My husband is extremely offended that he isn't invited, and so am I. She says she doesn't want him to go because my uncle may then want to come, and none of us like him, including his wife. But, that is an extremely lane excuse because there is no reason anyone would tell him or any other means for him to find out. I understand her needs right now and I want to accommodate her, but I feel it's beyond rude to tell a spouse they aren't invited. I don't know how to proceed from here. Chances of getting into University of California Irvine?

Your GPA is good but your ACT is low. However if you were a resident you could probably get into Irvine. USC is a private school and is extremely expensive. You have a chance there. If you really mean U of SF you can get in there but not UCSF which is a graduate school. Berkeley is out of your range and San Diego is a maybe but doubtful. All of these are for in state students. However, even if your family is moving to California you will be considered an out of state student until you family has been in California for a full year. California universities need money and they have opened the enrollment for out of state students and is now 18% and will probably go to 20%. It depends on what the competition is for out of state students, but if you get a decent SAT you have a good chance for Irvine.

I need help to find the perfect college for me?

Okay SIR is due very soon and I have been accepted into UC Davis, Riverside, Irvine, Merced, Santa Barbara and Santa Cruz. I want to be a vet and I know that a lot of people will say to go for UC Davis but I'm not exactly sure I don't want to be too far from LA. I have heard many things about most campuses like UCSB has a lot of partying and drugs and not to lie that kind of scares me in a way. I've that UCSC is nice but that it is all the way by San Francisco and I heard UCR is alright and that UCI is nice but not really much has bee said about it or UC Merced. Look I do wanna be a vet or at least work in the medical field but I am unsure about what to pick and I have been thinking about it for weeks and still cannot decide. I will tell you I'm not a big fan of hot whether,spring weather is good but I kind of like cool weather. I don't want to be too far away from LA cause that is my home, however I do want to live on campus rather than live with my parents. I just want a place where I don't only achieve at majoring in animal biology or in some other type of major in the medical field but where I can also feel comfortable in as well. Induction please help?

Well first off, if the doctor wants to induce for medical reasons, they know best! I induced on my due date and well it was not fun. But worth it since my husband could be there. It contractions came relentlessly and stronger than normal ones. It caused me to go into double peaked contractions, i got stuck after 12 hours of that at 3 cm dialted. But there are different ways to be induced, sounds like you would be going the pitocin route. Everyone is different no one can guarentee if it will be better than or worse than your first labor, but good luck and congrats on your bundle of joy when they arrive <3

Deciding which school to go to - SFSU, UC Irvine or UC Santa Cruz?

I got accepted into all 3 of these schools and now comes the hard part - deciding which one I should go to. Financially, SFSU is the school that won't get me broke. The school also has a good reputation in the social sciences and humanities, which is really the only field that I'm looking at. UCI and UCSC are also good schools but their tuition and room & board will drive me broke. I wouldn't consider the financial costs if it was UCLA. Anyway, the great thing about SFSU is that they've offered me the presidential scholarship. The only negative is that I've heard that it's hard to get cles there since there are not enough cl sections offered.

Not attending despite putting down a deposit happens all the time. I don't know of any colleges that pursue the "commitment" you signed. Just let them know ASAP that you don't plan to attend, and don't expect to get your deposit back.

Okay. I sometimes get jealous when my girlfriend hangs out with other guys because of the whole protective thing. But recently, my girlfriend has been hanging out with 2 of her guy friends, her and the two of them. Now, both of them are geeks, and seemingly unattractive, but it still makes me wonder if shes doing something behind my back. One reason is that one of her friends she was hanging out with was boasting he could last an hour and a half about , and she told me she was walking past him when she heard it and she said 2 hours. She said that her guy friend said that hes jealous of how long i can last, since she mentioned 2 hours to him reffering to us. It makes me wonder if she said that because she wants to instigate something to him or what? Another reason im suspiscious is because she leaves for like 6 hours with 2 of her guy friends. Like today, she was talking to me on facebook, and i was mad because she hadnt responded to my texts in like 5 hours, yet she was on facebook on her phone. I asked her what she was doing, and at 10:30 at night, she was apparently on her phone listening to music while sitting on a slide in a park with two of her guy friends. I asked her why and how she finds it fun, and she said that just talking to her guy friends is fun. Maybe im worrying too much, but i dont see how you need to meet up with 2 guy friends in a park at night just to talk and listen to music. I told her if she wants to talk to them she can do it over a phone. Anyway, i asked her if she does anything with her guy friends she isnt suppose to, and shje says no, and i belive her. But maybe im worrying too much, but i just dont find it okay how she goes to parks with her firends just to talk. Should i question her again?

Pport issue..help please?

ok here it is.. my mother is in the uk since 2006.. she is not a citizen of uk but.she is working there.she went there as a nurse!! last yr she give her pport to the home office like 1 1/2 year ago to renew her visa. she has her work permit( which is i think unfortunately going to expire soon).. till now she didnt get back her pport. for the past 1 1/2 yr she is without one.. she's been contacting them since long.all they say is that they are working on it.. she even hired solicitors to deal with it..in vain..one solicitor after the other with no results but only with bills to pay afterward.. is there something fishy going on???? any reason y they are not giving back the passport.. if she were illegal , they would have deported her since long.so wats the problem???? can any1 help me plz? can advice or idea..thanks

Why do I react so strangely in common dreams?

I know that dreaming of somebody trying to kill you and also dreaming of being out in public without clothes are common. However, when I try to look up the meaning online, I can never find an answer that seems to apply to me because the way I react in these dreams is different than what the interpreters ume. In my dreams where somebody is trying to kill me, I am usually frightened, yes, but mostly I have a lot of fun trying to outsmart and evade my pursuer. I come up with elaborate plans that allow me to escape and I end up enjoying it. In my "naked in public" dreams I am usually freaked out for a split second, until I realize that everyone around me either doesn't notice, or doesn't care. Then I pretty much think "awesome! I can go around naked!" And go about like that for the rest of the dream...

College Majors Question?

I am planning to transfer to a University from Community College soon, and I would like to attend UC Berkeley or UC Irvine, which both have business majors. I noticed that they only let a certain number of people to a major.... so if every major was full, would that mean that I have to spend more time in college? If the business administration major is only allowing 150 people, then is there no way for me to major in business? It doesn't make sense.

Is going ice skating easy?

Ice skating is really fun! Obviously it really does take some time to get used to balancing on ice, but before going, maybe Youtube some videos of how to stop on ice (this will come in handy so you don't run into people or walls!) It's fine to cling onto the wall once in a while, but try using both of your feet to stroke and push yourself rather than waddling (this can cause you to trip alot easier)

Help!! My daughter weighs more than me and even her dad!!!!?

She went for her physical today and got weighed. She weighs now 189 pounds!! (about 14 stone) I weigh only 130 and her dad weighs 160. When I last weighed her a year ago she weighed a normal 120 pounds but she also has shot up in height. A year ago she was 5"4 and now she is 5"6. She is 13. I noticed she was putting on a bit of weight but she's going through puppetry!!!! She also has high blood pressure now. As you get older, you'll find there are always people who know more about something than you do. To be successful in your field, your motivation should be to do the best you can do, never think that a degree is the end of learning, and relate to people. Some people throw their alma mater's name around like a frisbee. You can be proud of your school but you should be more proud of yourself if you give it your best. Good luck in your life choices.

My exboyfriend, who is dating someone else, just kissed me. What do I do?

We were dating for 3 years and he dumped me after a lot of urging from his parents to find some one less "messed up". I had been d a few years ago and had suppressed the memory almost completely. We went farther than we should have physically 1 night, and it brought all of those aw full memories crashing back. They were disoriented though, and for the rest of the day I couldn't discern who had done what. For 24 hours, I was so confused, I actually thought he had done it. I was later told by a therapist that that can actually be pretty common in those situations. What wasn't common is that I pulled out of it relatively quick. Any way, his parents thought I must be some sort of psychotic bimbo and forbade him from seeing me.We did any way, in secret. He would keep struggling with his parents, trying to convince them there was nothing wrong with me, but to little avail. Eventually, he said we should just take a break, but we didn't. We would have multiple "breakups" ( where we planned to wait until we were graduated) but we would always end up back together within a few days. The last one though, turned out to be real, but I didn't know it. We still flirted and everything. One day I see him sitting next to a friend of mine at lunch. I didn't think much of it until he was always sitting by her. During his last period, I peeked in his locker, and he had taken out my love post-it note. I left a note for him asking if he still wanted to get back together. I ended up having to text him, and he became very nasty. He would say, for days, through paragraphs of texts what a pathetic looser I was. He ended up dumping me for RE ALS reals at midnight. Over text.All alone. The next morning,I am not making any of this up, I had to sit through a church service about all the promises in romantic relationships and their vitality, then right after that, we went in the store to buy brunch and they were playing our song on the radio. Also in store for that day, our cl was planning to go four wheeling at some cabins and spend a few nights up there as a senior party. I had to watch him and her cuddle while we watched movies, and hold on to each other while they rode. He pive aggressively bullied me. Not even a week later, we had prom. I had to leave for every slow song. By then I was in tough girl mode, so I didn't cry until I got home. During this time we had started to text. He was saying he wants to be friends. I told him, 2 times that that would be impossible, because I would have to see him with her, making the same promises he had told me, holding her the way he held me, etc. He started to bully me again, and my dad tried to help me block his number, but he would still get through. He would start off by being nice, so I would start texting him back.Any way, we hadn't had any contact since a week or two after graduation. Last night, at midnight, he texted me again asking what I was doing,and how things were going. We were able to talk a few things out, sort of. He says he didn't want to make me cry, and that's why he never made his intentions completely clear. He would also ask why I was being so mean, then he would stop and correct himself. He know admits to being the pathetic loser. He keeps trying to be comforting by hugging me and he even kissed me on the cheek. At the end though, when his parents called to ask where he was, he said he had to go soon. He asked again if we could please be friends, because he didn't want to lose me completely. I could barely even say the words,"probably not". He leaned in to hug me and he kept lingering. Then he kissed me on the cheek again, then turned my head and kissed me on the lips. It wasn't violent or anything, he just held me there for a few seconds. I yelled at him and asked why he had done that and he said,"because I'll never see you again". You don't even know how many times he's said that. What do I do with this guy? He seems genuinely confused, but I do know, that among his many traits, he is very manipulative. He even brags about it. I'm thinking of telling him that if he ever tries to talk to me again, I'll tell his girlfriend what he did...or something. I do still love him and he knows that. Ok so i recently reinstalled Sims 2, also recently i have been downloading from iTunes as to get my music. Now i try to put my music files into the Sim's games, and for some reason they never show up! Anyone got an preferred idea of what format Sims 2 wants the music in?

I got my period and I used a tampon like I always been doing for the past years. But for some reason I have this huge bump on my left lip of my vigina. I don't know how I got it. I got it before where I pushed on it a d blood just came out like it was left overs from my period and I felt fine after but this time it hurts really bad. I did the same thing like I did last time and no blood came out just clear water stuff or what ever u want to say it is and like tissue peaces. I'm kinda freaking out. I don't know if it's because of the tampons or it I have an effection down there. All I know it hurts bad now and I still have it. It's smaller but it's still there. My boyfriend said I should go to the doctors but I have no health insurance. If some can help me to let me know what it could be please do tell me. Will taking tylenol 3s with codeine help ease withdrawl from oxycodone and oxycontin?

Just wondering.. I have a very close friend in which I live with who has been addicted to oxycodone and oxycontin for about two years now. He is trying to quit the bad habit cold turkey. He had a surgery about two years ago and has been on these things every since.. he is trying to find ideas to help ease his withdrawl symtoms.. he does not want to take suboxone or methadone for various reasons. He was thinking maybe taking some tylenol 3s with codeine to help ease it.. does anyone know if codeine will help him out with these yucky withdrawl symptoms? also is codeine in the same cl as oxycodone but in a much weaker form? Would taking enough of it take withdrawal symptoms away completely? don't know much about this stuff myself but he is miserable right now and I am doing everything I can to help him out.. if anyone knows anything about this stuff all answers will be greatly appreciated.. just want to know mainly if codeine and oxycodone are similar and if it will take away the withdrawl symtoms or at least help ease it alot? thanks for the help guys yahoo answers always helps me out alot ;)

Strong urge to stab myself in the stomach?

Now don't get me wrong, I am nowhere near suicidal I just get this feeling to stab myself with a knife in the stomach. It is somewhat like an itch that I need to scratch. I feel depressed after everything i do?

for as long as I can remember I've become more or less of a recluse due to anxiety disorders and these days I have realised I wasted my life and I want to get back to normal. to kill NORG you have to target his pod/shell thing then finish him off. Attacking the nodes wont kill him, they are to prevent him from casting some annoying spells. If you can't target him in the middle of the nodes, keep pressing different direction ons but you should be able to target him. The levels for your characters are good enough, your probably confused on how to beat him thats all, he isnt hard like Omega Weapon.

I'm a transfer student from a CA community college and I've been accepted to UC Irvine for this fall quarter for history. I don't think that there is any fool proof way to find out if you will have a mental illness or not, however it is true that you are more at risk genetically. I would also like to mention that shock therapy is very rare now and it is only resorted to if every other option is exhausted, and the patient consents, they are also put under general anaesthesia so they don't feel anything. I highly doubt that shock therapy is something that you need to worry about.

I was admitted to UCI at their College of Biological Sciences as a Biological Sciences major. I accepted because it was my best choice of the colleges that I was accepted to and I liked the campus. The problem is whether the D will prevent you from graduating from high school. High school graduation is an eligibility requirement for UC admission requirement as is four years of English. UC usually does not allow cles to be made up in the summer after the senior year.

My two year old struggles to sleep... "(?

Ever since she was born my two year old has struggled to sleep, as a baby until about 8 months she refused naps throughout the day and would fall asleep about 8pm ish. It never helped that as a baby her dad would let her sleep in our bed and now hes left us thats left me with the during the night toddles through to my bed from her. Shes now 29 months and does sleep throughout the day for about an hour, but my issue is for some reason she is hating going to bed... she cries and cries and screams and gets in and out of bed, i sit next to her bed reading a magazine not talking to her so im there but not interacting, and it will take me a good hour or so to battle her to sleep. ive tried reading a story, leaving her alone, soft music, more light, less light, new bedding, singing to her, simply ignoring her (other than to put her back into bed) and its like she has a pure fear of her bed. She shares her room with her 7month old sister so naturally wakes her up with all the fuss meaning she cries as shes so tired. My eldest is very sensitive, if people leave the house she cries and im not sure if shes started what seems like a fear of bed because she knows im leaving her when shes asleep. It works similar to this; half 7/8 she gets sleepy, take her to bed, after all the screaming and crying its about 9/10 before im back downstairs, shes up between 5/6am. The problem is when i was pregnant with my second i had severe SPD and struggled alone so some nights when i was in so much pain i couldnt take my eldest back to her bed to sleep and she had the luxury of staying in mummys bed. Im not sure whether to cut her nap during the day out which tends to be about 11ish, or to simply force her each night to bed, or to let her fall asleep downstairs with me and then take her up to avoid all the upset... im at a lose end now being alone to figure this out after my ex introduced the bad habits. Shes very very energetic, she wont sit for long at an activity and is very flitty so winding down with colouring probably wouldnt work. My concern for cutting naps is,that when shes not had a nap before she gets stupid tired between 4/5 and she has to sleep sometimes and then wakes up about 6/7 and then its ridiculous the time shes ready for bed. Her little sister is a beautiful little sleeper,but in 29 months shes had three different homes, three different beds so i know it must be hard. Its just gone from her getting tired, me taking her to bed at about 8ish, within 10 minutes shes sound asleep (this wwas only about 3 months ago) to this.... help! Haha. So I need to bail out of this band. It's a thrash metal band, but one of the members is too stubborn for it ever to make it anywhere. Chill, one D means nothing, but you screw up sometimes. However, a D in AP calculus means you get no collage credit, and you will have to take Calculus again next year. My wife and I went through a frightening traumatic event together. Its been four months and my wife seems to be fine and really never seemed to have too many lingering effects from that night, I thank God for that! Weird dreams/ nightmares since early childhood?

For as long as I can remember I have had these really f'ed up dreams. I remember them really from infancy if you can believe that. There was one I remembered (I couldn't even talk yet) I was sitting on the floor by a cabinet and there was this shadowed figure moving around in the cabinet. It was saying things and growling (not like a dog) but demonic. I then remember the cabinet door almost popping open and me struggling with all my might to keep it closed. I was crying and screaming. And I remember I woke up in my kitchen high-chair crying (obviously frightened). I remember my sister walking in the room and asking me what was wrong and why I was crying and then she picked me up and I cannot remember anymore from there. My next dream I could really remember was probably about the age of five and these weird nightmarish dreams kept happening until I was probably 7 or 8 and then they went away but for a short period of time recently (In the past year) I have had more of these dreams I'm 16 now and the idea of these thing still haunting me freaks me out. UCs don't factor in your senior year GPA. They use sopre and junior year for the UC GPA. 3.5 isn't bad either. Your sat score is pretty good too. It's hard to say what you will get into because you haven't mentioned any extracurriculars like sports, clubs, outside extracurriculars or volunteering.

students started bullying me. teachers started insulting humiliating me giving me severe punishments like sitting on the dustbin telling people in the cl not to sit with me..kneeling down keeping my head near their feet...telling me go sit in the toilet...often resulting in the cl laughing at me making mockery of me..to this day i suffer from nightmares and depression.to make matters worse i failed in cl 10 and wasted 1 year..so when joined a new school it was really difficult 4 me to bear those things again..and within my family there has been a heredity problem of dark circles under eyes..people used to find me hideous and i was often considered the odd one out even when there was no fault of mine.add to the problem of dark circles is the fact the i am 23 and i dont grow a beard and i look malnutritioned and weigh 60 kgs height is 5 ' 11..but there were worse things in store for me.after school i entered college i had no idea what i was getting into..it was an extremely glamorous college with no places for ugly nerds like me..in college also i was constantly bullied by people who were rich looked better than me...and teachers looked at me with disgust..teachers specifically pointed me out during the whole of my 3 year course for all the wrong reasons..all of them ignored me if i went to them with any query..Girls looked me at me even worse than they would look at their dog with utter disgust and pity..i still cant make eye contact with any girl let alone have a gf...whenever i look at girls my head goes down at their feet..i get paranoid anxious my hands start to sweat..numerous times all these years i have cried almost every night and asked god why he gave me this sorry life especially when i see people around me enjoying life having having gf bf...roaming around..it hurts me to the core that i keep having nightmares that people are cursing me all the time ..then i went into job hoping that things would change but they didnt i went through similar times in my job..now after 2 years of completing my grad..i have got admission to mba course but i fear that this sorry life of mine would start all over again...since last year i have sat at home and have not had a social life ever coz i fear what people keep saying to me..i am finished from inside and have no desire or hope to live life ..thoughts of suicide come to mind but then i remember my parents how they would feel..i have explained my situation to them a couple of times.but they r helpless coz they have got no money...my biggest inferiority compleax on this day is coz of my dark circles dont have a beard and being underweight....i have terrible eyesight wear glasses of 4 number......please help..is there anything left for me to suffer more..

If one did p close to the solar system, it might disrupt the orbits of the planets. Before it did this, it would began drawing material from the oort cloud onto its surface. Any material falling onto a black hole creates intense bursts of radiation as it is compressed. This might create gamma rays and this would surely eliminate a substancial amount of life, not only on earth but possible anything living in this sector of the galaxy as well. I suppose it is a good thing that the universe consists almost entirely of empty space.

lets start off by saying i am 14, i have bi polar disorder and have had/still have bulimia. i think i am going through a depression episode, because as of lately i have been starting to see things. sometimes i will start to see the things that frightened me the most, or just something in real life that scares me, when that happens i start to see these bugs that i know are not real because they aren't a real type of bug, but they will fly out around me or crawl out next to me, they look real and i know there not. i am not scared of them they are comforting to me and i feel they are there to pretect me and they are on my side. just like last night, i went to the movies to see that new X Men movie, and this cute guy who wanted to look normal in the movie injected himself with something that would help him and he turned into a beast and i got so scared, then the bugs came and led me out the theatre. i can't even handle movies anymore like that. i have been partying and getting wasted a lot, i have also been very ually active. (i use protection) i asked my mum for help but shes never around and dosen't take it seriously, and i don't live with my dad but i am so scared of him i don't want his help or want him in my life. i'm basically on my own here. as much as i would like it i can't cure myself with alcohol or marijuana. (this has been going on before all that so it's not the drugs/posion lol) i am at a loss. should i just like attempt suicide knowing i'm going to fail to get the help i need?

Can i stop my son's biological father seeing him ?

my sons biological dad saw him up to the first year ( he is now 5 ) and then started interfering with his routien and as he couldnt get his own way he stopped seeing him altogether and took me to court and tried getting the access he wanted . after a few times at court he decided to completly give up saying i was telling lie etc . now 4 years on i am constantly being black mailed and he has gone out of his way to find where i live and the car i drive to pester me constantly - i just cant get him to leave us alone . he is now saying he wants access again . but i dont want him to have any access at all due to the fact he is a alcoholic he takes hard drugs and had frequently frightened my little boy in the past to the fact he is now actually scared of him . my son does not know his real dad and referes to him as dean (his real name) . im in a secure relationship and have been for 3 years and i really dont need his dad back in his life making a mess of things . my child has also recently started primary school so i dont want any interference . please help on my rights to this ! my solictor is usless and wont really say much as she never beleves he will go to court . but i just want my mind at ease ..

In all honesty, I think you would be fine going to either a CC or San Jose State. UC Merced is accredited, however it is a new university and I can imagine feeling depressed out there.

I have always been living in fear because the world does not make sense to me and I don't really belong in it at all. People are mean and on top of that, I don't really make much sense when I speak. Trust me, your GPA is completely fine. To put it into perspective for you. I graduated high school with 3.6, and got into every college I applied to. Graduated college 3.2 GPA, and got into every graduate school I applied. Just completed graduated school with a 3.6. I just recently finished my college application process so I have a fair amount of knowledge about what you are getting in to. I'm just about positive you will be accepted into all of your backups and Davis, Cal Poly and Irvine. They are all good schools and with your scores and GPA you will be accepted. UC San Diego is a toss up just because they are extremely impacted and a lot of kids want to go to San Diego. Berkeley and UCLA will be tough. I know of people with very good resumes and they were denied. In recent years, there have been record numbers of applicants applying to 4 year universities because a degree has become essential for a good career. So, I think that you have a chance of being accepted into UCLA and Berkeley, but that there is also a chance you will be denied. It is a toss up. Regardless, with your test scores and GPA, you will be accepted into the rest of the schools and have many great options. To strengthen your chances of being accepted, write GREAT personal statements. Your essays are what set you a part from the rest of the applicants. Many kids do not take the application essays seriously, but having been through the process, I strongly encourage you to dedicate enough time to write meaningful statements. Ask your family, friends and teachers to read and correct your essays to ensure you are putting your best foot forward.

Okay,so I am a transfer student and I have been rejected by UC San Diego(top choice for me), UC Santa Barbara, and UC Irvine. I got accepted to UC Santa Cruz and UC Davis and I chose UC Davis since it has a good science program. However, I had been planning to go to UC San Diego since January of 2009. I will work hard at davis so I can get in a more prestigious med schools when the time comes around but I wonder what colleges for undergraduate studies have you been denied to.It could be not from California but other states or even other countries around the world. How do I find out why he's doing this to me?

My boyfriend just recently broke up with me, and it's completely tearing me to shreds. I can't stop thinking about him, what he's doing, and most of all, why he broke it off in the first place. He said he needed some 'time to think' and he needed to be single right now. We agreed to still be friends, because we were best friends before we started dating, and we still share a bond. Thing is, I saw him today, and though he still seemed to be acting strangely (he told me he was upset because he didn't know what was going on in his mind) and he looked like he was genuinely sad about hurting me and hurting himself, he told me I was his best friend and that would never change and he told me he would text me later today. It's 2 hours til midnight and he still hasn't contacted me. I'm just confused and in so much pain because of what he promised and what he's actually doing (or not doing.) I'm tired of hurting, and he's caused me so much of it, and he knows I'm so madly in love with him. I'm not trying to be 'that girl,' the damsel in distress, but I feel like I deserve answers, because I was part of the relationship and it was so sudden and out of the blue. I want to contact him so badly it hurts, but I don't know if I should, because I worry it will make things worse.
