How do I know if he likes me?!?

Okay so long story short, I've been talking to this guy for a little while and we've become pretty close- I think I'm beginning to really like him. Last weekend after we'd had a few drinks, we made out at this party. Afterwards I regretted it so much and I was totally ashamed at myself. It's not that I didn't want to, I really did, but I didn't want to come across as cheap and easy.. Then we didn't speak for a couple of days. When we did speak, however, he told me that he 'thought' he was "falling for" me but that he was confused and there was "a lot going on". Now we haven't spoken for about a week. I want to talk to him, but I feel as though I've frightened him off and I don't know what to do because I think I'm really beginning to like him- help!
