Forgot to cancel SAT score...was about to only send in ACT scores - will this effect my chances of getting in?

Maybe, but what would help is if you sent them a letter explaining why you got that certain score. They would not only (probably) dismiss the score, but appreciate the effort you put into actually sending them the letter.
